I have always believed (and still do) that the team is THE most important part of a successful startup.
I am extremely proud and excited about my co-founders and would put the three of us against any other startup team in the world when it comes to perseverance, resourcefulness, drive, stubbornness, and almost delusionary confidence that we will succeed.
We definitely try to keep very far from crossing the line into arrogance and don’t mind being slapped if and when we do cross that line, but we do think that we can beat any other competitor with our sheer will and hard work. We will do whatever it takes. I wrote a little bio about myself (in the about me tab), but wanted to highlight my two cofounders:
Prasanna Sankaranarayanan- Prasanna could very well always hold the title for longest surname at our company. Originally from Chennai, he interned for Google in India, then worked for Microsoft Bing in Vancouver. He loves to code. He loves to compete. He loves to win. He loves to compete and win coding competitions- and he has done so many times successfully. Prasanna was ranked the #1 TopCoder in the country of India. He was also the youngest ever Google Code Jam World Finalist. This guy can code and is also willing to learn whatever he needs to succeed.
Shubham Mittal- Shubham is a smart motherfuc*er. This guy attended was ranked #1 (yes the TOP student at IIT Delhi, arguably the top University in India. He was the gold medalist at the International Physics Olympiad. He also has worked at both Google and Microsoft, the latter where he was awarded a Gold Star for being in the top 5% of all employees. If there is a problem, he WILL figure it out. He is also an amazing Table Tennis and Foosball player (best at Microsoft is what he tells me, but I have yet to confirm it
).
Me- I’m a bit crazy. I can be controversial. I don’t like to do things in the traditional way or the way things are “supposed to be done” and that pisses a lot of people off. If I need to talk to a CEO, I’ll figure out what his email is…. if that doesn’t work, I’ll camp outside his office… still no luck, then I’ll figure out which car he drives and wash his windows while we chat (I’ve done all of these things). If we need 1,000 people signed up by tomorrow, I’ll knock on people’s doors with my laptop and ask them to click “sign-up” for me. If something needs to get done, I’ll figure out a way to get it done and do it. I am not saying this is the way that everybody should do things or that my way is always best. BUT, this is the way that I have been doing things and it has been successful for me.
Others? We are constantly looking for other badasses to join us as we build the next big company. If you are the best in the world at something or are simply willing to do whatever it takes to be the best, we want to talk to you. Call me at 740.972.6939 or email me at evan.reas@gmail.com.
